The deadline to apply for one of the temporary openings

is Jan. 22.

LISBON – The School Committee is down from five members to three following the resignations of two members, Richard Nadeau and Constance Bucher. Both cited other commitments as the reason for leaving.

The committee will begin advertising immediately for replacements, who will serve until the municipal election in May.

Nadeau’s term expires in May and Bucher’s in May 2005. Their resignations will result in a total of four openings on the board to be filled at the town meeting election in May.

The deadline to apply for one of the temporary openings is Jan. 22. Interviews with candidates will take place at the Jan. 26 meeting, after which replacements will be appointed, a committee spokesman said.

Bucher, who has gone back to school, will not have the time to devote to the committee, and has a commitment that would prevent her from attending town meeting in May.

Nadeau works nights and is also unable to attend meetings.
