1915 – 2004

LEWISTON – Barbara V. Milanese, 89, of Sabattus Residential Care, 64 Lisbon Road, Sabattus, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

A 26 year resident of the Auburn Esplanade, she was born in Hartford, on Nov. 27, 1915, the daughter of Bernice (Stubbs) Alley and Clarence Alley.

An only child, she had many fond memories of growing up on the farm in Hartford, surrounded by her cousins, dear friends and beloved dogs and horses. She was a Buckfield High graduate of the class of 1932. She was employed by several area restaurants and had previously lived many years in Daytona, Fla.

She is survived by her son, James E. Irish of North Turner; two grandsons, Kevin A. Irish of Turner and James E. Irish Jr. and his wife Sheila of Brunswick; a granddaughter-in-law, Laura M. Davis-Irish of Buckfield; and two great-grandchildren, Sarah Joyce Irish and Jacob Harland Irish of Buckfield.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gabriel (Tony) Milanese.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff, and especially Mary Ann Glebocki, at Sabattus Residential Care for their kindness, comfort and loving care of Barbara these last six weeks.
