LEWISTON – A car struck and injured a pedestrian at Lisbon and Cedar streets Sunday night.
Police said Normand Raymond, 65, of Auburn, was struck while crossing at the intersection at 9 p.m. He was not in a crosswalk. Lt. Mike McGonagle said Raymond was taken to Central Maine Medical Center with injuries that appeared to serious. A nursing supervisor at CMMC said hospital staff was evaluating Raymond late Sunday night.
McGonagle identified the car’s driver as Nina Sysko, 18, of Lewiston.
“At this point it looks like the subject was crossing the street and Ms. Sysko didn’t see him. It doesn’t look like alcohol or speed were involved,” McGonagle said.
He said the accident remained under investigation.
