PARIS – Brenda Lamb of Bridgton will be the featured speaker for the next Christian Women United Meeting at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the First Congregational Church. Art Group

NORWAY – The Western Maine Art Group is inviting the public to its annual meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at the Lajos Matolcsy Art Center at 480 Main St.

‘Logging’ author

NORWAY – Norway Memorial Library will present children’s author Mary Morton Cowan who will discuss and read from her book “Timberr, A History of Logging in New England” from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursdays Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, at the library. The presentation will include visuals. Inspiration for her book stems from stories of her father’s childhood in the Paris Manufacturing Co.’s woods operation. A Maine native, Cowan is also the author of “Ice Country,” a historical novel, and 60 articles in children’s magazines including “Highlights for Children.” These programs are for children ages 8 to 14.
