LEWISTON – Empower Lewiston has hired Barbara Rankins as neighborhood coordinator.

Rankins is a former Empower Lewiston board member and past president, and resident of downtown Lewiston.

Rankins will manage Empower Lewiston’s office in the B Street Community Center and will work with directors, the community and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Keeping the board up to date on resident issues, potential partners, and grant opportunities are some of the ways in which she will assist in coordinating efforts and communications.

She will also work with Seeds of Change outreach worker Tina Bailey, and with input from downtown residents help to coordinate programs and workshops.

Empower Lewiston is a nonprofit organization funded by the USDA Enterprise Community program. Its mission is to create opportunities and improve the quality of life for residents of downtown Lewiston through partnerships.
