JAY – Saturday winter hours at the Jay Recycling Facility/Transfer Station, effective from Jan. 17 to Feb. 28, are 8 a.m. to noon. The weekday hours will remain the same from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Meeting set

TEMPLE – The Franklin County Firemen’s Association will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the Temple Town Hall. County firefighters, guests and interested people are invited to attend. The regular business meeting will be followed by the guest speaker, refreshments and a drawing for door prizes. Representation from all departments is requested.

Dog licenses

JAY – Late fees for all unlicensed dogs will be charged on dogs licensed after Feb. 1 at the Jay Town Office. The late fee has increased to $15 per dog.

FARMINGTON – The Maine Lodge No. 20 meeting scheduled Jan. 26 has been canceled due to circumstances beyond their control. No makeup date has been set.

Valentine’s dance

FARMINGTON – Tickets are now available for a Valentine’s Dance to be held from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Farmington Elks Lodge. A supper will precede the dance from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Entertainment for the dance will be provided by the Legends. Members and guests are welcome. Donations of $25 per couple will cover the dinner and dance. Tickets are available at Mickey’s Hallmark or by calling 778-4726. The evening is sponsored by the Farmington Emblem Club.

Italian night

FARMINGTON – Italian night begins again at Trinity United Methodist Church. A public supper featuring Italian cuisine will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at the church on Route 2, the Farmington Falls Road. The menu this month includes chicken cacciatore, spaghetti and meatballs, homemade Italian bread, salad, beverage and dessert. Meal prices are $6 for adults and $3 for kids under 12.
