WEST PARIS – The Unitarian-Universalist Church in West Paris is opening its doors to the community again this year for Cabin Fever Countdown programs.
Starting Thursday, Feb. 5, the church will be open from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays for at least six weeks for games, puzzles, crafts or a time to visit with others. Coffee and a snack will be provided each week. Each week a craft or special program will be offered as well as board games, dominoes and card games. Jigsaw puzzles will be works in progress for those who like that challenge.
The first week’s craft will be a cat quilt block. Materials and supplies will be provided, but people may also bring some special material they like. A sewing machine will be provided. Anyone who wants to bring a portable machine is welcome to do so.
On Feb. 12, there will be candy making. Supplies will be provided. Future programs will include a variation on the basic granny square (crochet), tai-chi and other programs announced later. If anyone has a special activity they would like included, contact Beverly Stevens at 674-2481.
