TOPSHAM – Flying Changes Center for Therapeutic Riding has been accredited under the Premier Accredited Center Program offered by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association. Flying Changes Center has been an association accredited center since 1994.
Flying Changes offers equine-assisted activities for individuals with disabilities. By attaining accredited status the center has demonstrated that it is in accordance with the national standards for the therapeutic riding industry.
To become an accredited center, a member organization must successfully pass an on-site evaluation by a trained site visitor. Centers are evaluated according to several standards that cover a wide range of areas such as horse management, safety equipment, quality of instruction, facility operations, volunteerism and administrative practices.
The standards were developed by the association membership to assure that centers follow procedures that are basic to quality equine assisted therapy and activities.
The association is a nonprofit equestrian organization founded in 1969 to promote and support therapeutic riding for individuals with disabilities. Centers serve more than 36,000 individuals with disabilities with equine assisted therapy and activities.
