1918 – 2004

LEWISTON – Isabelle D. Morissette, 85, of 119 Dumont Ave., died early Tuesday morning, Jan. 20, at d’Youville Pavilion.

She was born in Grand Isle, Feb. 24, 1918, daughter of George and Sophie (Hebert) Dubois. She was educated in Lewiston schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community. She worked many years in local shoe shops, spending several years at Cushman Shoe and many more years at Shapiro Bros. until her retirement in 1972.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Ladies of Holy Cross, Holy Cross Seniors and U.S.J.B.

She leaves her husband of Lewiston, Ernest A. Morissette, whom she married in July of 1949; two daughters, Monita Lavoie of Yarmouth and Diane Morissette of Lewiston; a son, Roland Caron also of Lewiston; two grandsons, Jason and Christopher Lavoie; and a sister, Lorenza Dallaire and husband Armand of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Maurice Caron in February of 1947; seven brothers; and five sisters.
