1931 – 2004

DURHAM – Marcel E. Giguere, 72, of 243 Royalsborough Road, Durham, died peacefully at his residence on Monday morning, Jan. 19, following a long illness.

Born in Tramway, June 17, 1931, the son of Joseph and Jeanne (Dugal) Giguere, he had been a resident of this community for most of his life.

He was employed as a construction worker until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of St. Louis Church.

Mr. Giguere was an avid fisherman, trapper and hunter. He had a great sense of humor and always liked joking with his friends. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, the former Anita Morin, whom he married on July 18, 1959 of Durham; three brothers, Gabriel Giguere and his wife, Cecile, Guy Giguere and his wife, Jackie and Andre Giguere and his wife, Lucienne, all of Lewiston; three sisters, Theresa Bowrawski and her husband, George of Hartford, Conn., and Charlotte Demers and Rita Giguere, both of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one brother, Jean Paul Giguere.
