1912 – 2004

AUBURN – Ernest H. Robertson, 91, formerly of Valley Street in Auburn, died Monday evening, Jan. 19, at the Clover Manor Health Care Facility.

He was born in Auburn April 25, 1912, a son of William and Emily (Rowe) Robertson. He was educated in Auburn schools, graduated from Edward Little High School and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On June 5, 1937, he married the former Doris Temple who died June 16, 1998. For many years Mr. Robertson worked as a Printer for the Lewiston Sun Journal 48 years until his retirement in 1981.

For several years in the mid 1950’s until the 1960’s he also ran a business, which he founded, known as Robertson’s Auction Rooms in which he ran weekly Saturday night auctions and on site estate auctions.

He was a member of the Baptist Church and in his free time he enjoyed working on improving and upgrading his cottage in Oxford and puttering as much as he could with lots of home improvement projects.

He leaves a son, David E. Robertson and his wife Lynn of Lombard, Ill.; a nephew, John Robertson of Augusta; and a niece, Phyllis Brown of Belfast.

He was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Robertson; and two brothers, Arthur and Ralph Robertson.
