Mexico – Oxford Federal Credit Union will hold an open house on Monday, Jan. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. to honor Joseph A. “Tony” Poirier’s retirement from the board of directors after 45 years of service.
Poirier has served on the OFCU board since 1959, and has been board chairman since 1961. He was named Rumford Citizen of the Year in 2003, honoring his many hours of volunteer service to his community. At that awards ceremony, Poirier said he was most proud of his work with Oxford Federal Credit Union.
“When I started volunteering at the credit union, we were located inside the Rumford mill and had assets of $700,000. Now, we have two locations and almost $100 million in assets. I have enjoyed being a part of the credit union’s growth.”
The open house will be held in the Joseph A. Poirier training room in the credit union’s Mexico office. All those who wish to share in the event are welcome.
