SUMNER – The Comprehensive Plan Committee on Wednesday approved an outline to guide discussions with groups on the future of Sumner.

Edwin Hinshaw had developed a draft. Members of the committee will be contacting people to request an opportunity to meet.

The meetings are to get feedback so the committee can develop a questionnaire to be mailed to every household and property owner in Sumner.

Residents who would like to have their group included may phone Chairman Rhea Kennelly at 388-2959.

Also the committee is seeking additional members.

The committee is planning open meetings on topics of special interest.

Members and their assigned areas of research are: Kennelly, past and predicted future demographics of Sumner; Mary Ann Haxton, natural resources, which include forests, woodlands, farmland and aquifers. She presented maps depicting these areas.

The next meeting is Feb. 18.
