I am in total agreement with Mr. Pare’s letter that appeared Sunday, Jan. 18. There are people in the United States who need some of the basic necessities of life. Just basic stuff – food money, rent money, affordable health care – stuff like that. And here we are shooting money out into space and rebuilding a country where the ungrateful residents hate us.

I firmly believe our country needs a viable third party. We can call it “The Common Sense Party.” In forming this party, a series of tests would have to be administered. Those tests would measure each candidate’s degree of common sense. Those not recording a satisfactory common sense quotient would have to run in one of the other two parties.
