WILTON – Planners approved three permits and renewed one Thursday. They also tabled one application indefinitely.

Planners approved a permit for Richard Austin to move and/or bring in up to 150 yards of gravel on his Weld Road property. Code Enforcement Officer Brenda Medcoff said Austin purchased the old Blanchard Farm and has been renovating the house. He recently put in a new septic system and wants to put gravel over it and bring in loam so he can do some seeding.

Planners also approved a permit for Rachel Jackson Hodsdon to operate a nonprofit information center in the former Linda’s Crafts building at 355 Main St. She explained that her clients are nonprofit agencies who come to her for consulting services in the areas of Maine Care set-up and billing, new program development, financial management and grant writing.

Allen and Susan Kaplan, owners of Your Hometown Market in East Wilton, filed an application for a use permit for a business formerly owned by Deb Foss. Medcoff said the only difference will be adding a lottery machine.

Planners approved the use permit.

Last January planners approved a permit to put in two apartment units above Firehouse Video with conditions. The building is nonconforming because it is closer than 25 feet to Wilson Stream. Under the town’s ordinance a nonconforming structure cannot be changed to another use unless the Planning Board determines the new use will not have any greater adverse affect on the property or a nearby water body.

Once the apartments are finished James Lecraw plans to buy the building from Roula Maniatakos and build parking spaces. Planners extended the permit that was granted last January. When the property changes hands, Lecraw must come before the board.

In other business, board members discussed:

• Taking information out of the zoning ordinance that conflicts with a newly enacted subdivision ordinance.

• Possibly increasing the number of hours Medcoff works in order to address a variety of violations in town and the enforcement of junkyard violations.

• Possible ordinance changes for setback requirements from the water in the downtown area.

• Changes to the land use table

• Routes 2 & 4 access management.

• Regulation of signs that advertise brand name products.

• Shoreland expansions.

• Cluster development.
