Sean Fry drops in 27 points for Jay.

BETHEL – Sean Fry exploded for a game-high 27 points to lead Jay to a convincing 75-49 MVC boys’ basketball win over Telstar on Friday evening.

The Tigers (12-2) jumped out to a 42-23 lead at the end of the first half. Brad Loon and Marc Kelvey added to the lead with 10 points each.

Casey Fleet led the Rebels (10-4) with 19 points. Sean Caddigan chipped in 10.

Messalonskee 74,

Leavitt 62

TURNER – Isaac Hutchinson scored 15 points and nailed one of five Messalonskee 3-point baskets in a 74-62 KVAC victory.

Joe Beaudoin added 13 points and John Fisher 12, each draining one from long range for the Eagles (8-1).

Jake Witham topped the Hornets (0-11) with 16 points. Brandon Powell dropped in a dozen and Dan Berry contributed 10.

Mountain Valley 60, Dirigo 34

RUMFORD – Mountain Valley kept rolling in the MVC, using Jarod Oldham’s 12 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five blocked shots to rip rival Dirigo 60-34 and capture its 15th straight game without a loss.

Dirigo (2-13) stayed within a pair at the half, trailing 22-20 before Oldham’s six third-period points triggered a 21-6 run. Travis Fergola also scored 12 points for the Falcons. Marcus Palmer added 11 points, while Issac Stickney produced 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Brandon Berry led the Cougars with nine points.

Mt. Ararat 52, EL 51

AUBURN – Tyler Bode scored 14 points as Mt. Ararat overcame a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter to snag a 52-51 KVAC victory over Edward Little.

The Red Eddies went 12-for-25 from the free-throw line, potentially costing EL a victory. Kenny Poulin led all scorers with 23 points for EL, while Ryan Ford added 20.

Danny Colina and Colin Meyn added 13 and 10 points, respectively, to seal the victory.

Lisbon 60, Monmouth 54

MONMOUTH – Levi Ervin scored 16 points to lead Lisbon to a 60-54 MVC win over Monmouth.

Mike Wilkins added 13 points and Jared Martin 10 for the Greyhounds.

Mark Wade led all scorers with 31 points. Brian Gardner added 14 points.

Mt. Abram 59,

Livermore Falls 55

SALEM – Sterling Pingree scored 22 points, hauled down 11 rebounds and went 5-for-5 from the free-throw line in the waning minutes to wrap up Mt. Abram’s 59-55 MVC win over Livermore Falls.

Jordan Norton hit a 3-pointer late in the third quarter for Mt. Abram (4-10), and the Roadrunners used a 16-11 gain in the fourth period to stave off the Andies (2-12).

Brad Bryant led Livermore Falls with 22 points. Levi Armandi added 11 and Garrett Young 10.

NYA 72, Buckfield 57

BUCKFIELD – Tim DeLuca notched a game-high 35 points as North Yarmouth Academy downed Buckfield, 72-57, in a Class D clash.

Brian Chin added 11 points for the Panthers (8-2).

Jamie Henderson led Buckfield (7-5) with 22 points. Scott Wetherell added 10. The Bucs jumped out to a 18-10 lead after one period before NYA scored 25 in the second stanza.

Boothbay 71,

Winthrop 59

WINTHROP – Ben Stover and Jack Sherman drained 16 points apiece to lead Boothbay to a 71-59 MVC win over Winthrop.

Mike Norton added 12 points for the Seahawks (10-6). Chris McPherson and Max Beauregard tallied 13 points each for the Ramblers (6-10), while Joey Burnham chipped in 12.

Lawrence 74,

Lewiston 64

FAIRFIELD – Trevor Woods scored 28 points and Lawrence enjoyed an 18-1 advantage from the free-throw line in a 74-64 KVAC win over Lewiston.

Nate Lambert added 15 points for the Bulldogs (8-3). Chris Denis chipped in 11 and Jake Gregory tallied 10.

Lawrence went 12-for-12 from the floor in the second period, scoring 31 points to grab a 50-34 lead. Bryce Bryant and Nick Beauchesne each scored a dozen points for the Blue Devils (4-5). Joe Lee dropped in 10.

Winslow 55, Oak Hill 43

WINSLOW – Oak Hill threw a scare into reigning Class B champion Winslow before Eric Lopez scored nine points in a 12-0 run over the final three minutes to push the Black Raiders to a 55-43 KVAC triumph.

Oak Hill (1-12) led 32-31 at the half but mustered only six points in the third period and five in the fourth. Lopez led all scorers with 22 for Winslow (10-4).

Adam Labbe topped Oak Hill with 17 points, while Troy Tracy added 11.

Hall-Dale 47,

Georges Valley 29

FARMINGDALE – Junior center Matt Wheelock scored 18 points for Hall-Dale in a 47-29 MVC rout of Georges Valley.

The Bulldogs (13-2) made 10 steals to pull away. Jack Leet nailed two of his three field goals from beyond the arc to contribute eight points.

Brett Hutchinson garnered eight points for the Buccaneers (10-5) in the loss.
