AUBURN – Chris Brackett poured in 21 points to lead Central Maine Community College to an 89-65 win over Northern Maine Community College in men’s basketball Sunday.

Patrick Dempsey and Chris Havens chipped in 14 and 13 points respectivley for the Mustangs.

The Falcons were led by Robbi Hill with 18 points while Craig Durost and Corey Shields chipped in 14.

Husson 63,

Elms College 61

BANGOR – Bill Beauregard drained a game-high 18 points and hauled down five rebounds to lead Husson College to a thrilling 63-61 win over Elms College in men’s basketball action Sunday afternoon.

The Braves took a 10-point lead at the end of the first half and withstood a furious rally in the second half to squeak out a two-point victory. Dwayne Ailey and Phil White chipped in with 15 points apiece in the win.

Elms was led by Kyle Seyboth and Lonnie Braynon III with 12 points each.

St. Joseph’s 70, UMPI 68

PRESQUE ISLE – With three seconds remaining in regulation, Jon Carey stepped to the free-throw line to sink a pair of shots to lift the University of Maine at Presque Isleto a 70-68 win over the College of St. Joseph’s Sunday.

Carey led the Owls (6-7) with a team-high 34 points and 12 rebounds.

Silas Carnes paved the way for St. Joe’s with a game-high 36 points.

Women’s basketball

Husson 83, Bay Path 43

CHICOPEE, Mass.- Crystal Martin drained 12 points to lead Husson College to an 83-43 win over Bay Path College in women’s basketball Sunday afternoon.

The Braves placed 11 players in the scoring column with Sarah Davis and Stephanie McIntyre adding 10 points apiece in the lopsided victory.

Bay Path was led by Michelle Frett with a game-high 12 points.

St. Joseph’s 58, UMPI 50

PRESQUE ISLE – Morgan Hytko poured in a game-high 23 points to lead the College of St. Joseph’s to a hard fought 58-50 win over the University of Maine at Presque Isle Sunday.

Elizabeth Arbelacz added 13 points and Jayde DeFursne rounded out the scoring with 11 points as they overcame a 30-17 halftime deficit with a 41-20 run in the second half to secure the victory.

The Owls (3-9) were led by Erica McGary with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
