AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will present “How to Ask for Money Effectively: Fund-raising Techniques Every Nonprofit and Volunteer Should Know” with professional fund-raising coach, Marc Pitman.

The workshop will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Central Maine Community College. The cost is $55 a person, which includes materials.

Pitman is an expert in fund-raising and has played significant roles in capital campaigns that have raised a combined total of more than $50 million.

Pitman said, “Fund-raising is an extreme sport! Your equipment is often simply a cup of coffee and your passion.”

Participants will learn techniques to improve fund-raising skills, as well as the top mistakes people make when fund-raising. The workshop is good for board members and other volunteers of nonprofits.
