LIVERMORE FALLS – As of Friday afternoon, only one candidate, Kevin Morrissey of East Livermore, had taken out papers for a vacant selectman’s seat.

Others wishing to run for the seat, which was vacated by Clayton Putnam, have until Wednesday, Jan. 28, to take out and return nomination papers to the town office for the Feb. 11 special election.

Wednesday is also the first day that the town office will be open late. To offer this service without staff overtime, the office will open to the public at 11 a.m. on the last Wednesday of the month, rather than 8:30, and remain open until 6:30 p.m.

Town officials also remind the public that a drop-off box has been installed between the glass doors at the town office for anyone wishing to leave payments after regular hours.

Tax and sewer payments also may be mailed to the office at 2 Main St. If a receipt is needed, people are being asked to include a stamped, self-addressed envelope with their payment.

Re-registrations may be done through the mail by first calling the office to determine the amount of the fee. The fee can then be mailed with a check payable to the town of Livermore Falls, along with a copy of the insurance card and the current mileage.

Those needing to fill an SR22 certificate should indicate so when they call for the fee.

Renewals for boats, ATVs and snowmobiles may also be done through the mail by calling first for the fee.

New registrations need to be done in the office.
