UPPER CUPSUPTIC TOWNSHIP (AP) – A New Hampshire man was killed Sunday when he lost control of his snowmobile and drove into a stand of trees while riding from New Hampshire to Rangeley.
Joshua Russell, 29, of Contoocook, N.H., was killed at about 10 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve on trail 84 of the Interstate Trail System northwest of Rangeley, said Maine Warden Service spokesman Mark Latti.
Russell and three other people were riding to Rangeley at the time, Latti said.
There have now been two fatal snowmobile accidents this winter in Maine.
A 64-year-old Northport man was killed in December when his snowmobile hit a gate on a tote road in Northport.
