FARMINGTON – A young Farmington mother who stands accused of attempted murder will be in a county court Monday, maybe to agree to a plea deal.

Donna Enman, 26, was charged with attempted murder and two counts of hindering apprehension in the shooting of Janette Osborne, Enman’s boyfriend’s mother, who was shot in the chest while hanging clothes in July.

Earlier this month, her boyfriend, 23-year-old Joshua Osborne, pleaded guilty to criminal solicitation to commit murder, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and tampering with a witness. Enman had a son in October, whom she named after Osborne, the child’s father.

He was sentenced by Justice Joseph Jabar to serve two years of a five-year sentence in the Franklin County Detention Center and then upon his release, remain on probation for four years.

During Osborne’s sentencing, Assistant District Attorney Andrew Robinson admitted that some statements allegedly made by Enman turn blame toward herself and that notes written between the couple after Enman was released from jail show Osborne giving her coaching on the weapons used in the July incident.

Enman is also accused of helping Osborne hide the weapons and lying to police about where he was after the incident.

Andrews said Enman “may be pleading” on Monday at 8:30 a.m. in Franklin County Superior Court. The same judge who sentenced her boyfriend will be presiding.

There have been talks between the state and Enman’s lawyer, Phil Mohler, but there are “not finalized negotiations at this point,” Andrews said.

If Enman decides not to sign a plea deal, jury selection for her trial will most likely start Tuesday, Andrews said.
