WEST PARIS – Selectmen Thursday awarded contracts for a new furnace at the Arthur L. Mann Memorial Library and another concerning printing of the 2003 town reports in preparation for the upcoming March town meeting.

The furnace contract was awarded to the low bidder, Western Maine Heating of Bridgton, which bid $1,787. The bid included code updates on the system and updates on the oil lines and electrical systems. The only other bidder, C&G Heating and Air Conditioning, came in with a bid of $3,123.

The new furnace can be in and running early next week.

The printing contract was awarded to Grassroots Graphics of Norway at $1,200 plus from $150 to $200 for photos, depending on how many are submitted.

One other bidder, Park Street Press of South Paris, came in at $1,394 with no complete quote for the cost of photos.
