1914 – 2004

AUBURN – Ena “Mimi” M. Benn, 89, died Jan. 24, at an Auburn health care facility, where she had resided for the past two years.

Born at Linneus, Aug. 6, 1914, the daughter of W. Melvin and Iva F. Sawyer McLean, she was educated in the Hodgdon School System and later earned her CNA certification.

She loved to cook, sew, read and thoroughly enjoyed working as a CNA caring for the elderly. She married Leon W. Benn in 1932, and was devoted to her family.

She was a member of the Methodist Church, past noble grand of the Portia Rebekahs and the Fidelity Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Mansur and her husband, Norwood of Auburn; her son, Gary Benn and his wife, Rita of Sacramento, Calif.; her daughter-in-law, Joyce Marks and her husband, Richard of Hampton; eight grandchildren, Kenneth Mansur and his wife, Debra, Kathleen Cloutier and her husband, Jeffrey, Melvin Benn and his wife, Lorrie, Brenda Marshall and her husband, Denis, Laurie Feranec and her husband, Michael, Jennifer Burns and her husband, James, Christopher Benn and Kimberly Benn; seven great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Andrew Feranec, Christa and Casey Benn, Mikayla and Chase Cloutier and Kyle Mansur; and the family pets, Bear and Smokey.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Leon W. Benn; and her son, Edward Benn. She will live in our hearts forever.
