Both drivers were conscious and alert at the scene, police said.

DURHAM – Two vehicles were demolished in a near head-on crash on Pinkham Brook Road early Monday night. Only minor injuries were reported, Androscoggin County Deputy Sheriff Randy Williams said.

Warren Mitchell, 35, of 18 Madeline Drive, Brunswick, was transported to Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick. His daughters, ages 7 and 10, escaped apparent injury, Williams said.

The second driver, Norman Albert, 33, of Lisbon, was transported to Central Maine Medical in Lewiston. Both drivers were conscious and alert at the scene, police said.

Williams said Albert, driving a 1988 Oldsmobile north toward Lisbon Falls, was in the process of passing a vehicle ahead of him when Mitchell, driving a 1997 Hyundai south, approached over a rise. Albert swerved to the left, but was unable to avoid a collision.

Durham Fire and Rescue responded to the 6:53 p.m. crash. No charges were filed, Williams said.
