One day after sending out a press release advertising a ceremonial puck drop by Boston Bruins legend Bobby Orr, the Lewiston Maineiacs on Wednesday released another statement, saying Orr will no longer appear at the Central Maine Civic Center at Thursday’s game against Quebec.
On Wednesday morning, the Maineiacs received a phone call from Orr informing the team that he would be unable to attend the game.
According to team officials, Orr was very apologetic but mentioned due to an injury to a client, he was forced to change his schedule.
“The Lewiston Maineiacs were hoping to add something special to our game on Thursday by having Bobby Orr as our special guest,” Maineiacs Vice President and Governor Matt McKnight said in a press release. “We are disappointed for our fans that were hoping to see him.”
Individuals who wish to exchange their tickets for future games can do so at the Central Maine Civic Center Box Office.
