LEWISTON – The Holy Cross School Student Council and student body joined Union Saint Jean Baptiste Council Ste. Croix 413 to raise funds for the St. Martin de Porres Residence in Lewiston.

The “Great Dime Race,” a joint project, was a competition between the classes that brought in $1,800, including a matching fund donation by the USJB Regional Office in Woonsocket, R.I.

Sixth-grade classes won the competition. Council 413 will treat the students to a pizza party. Both groups have raised more than $9,800 for worthy causes in the past three years.
