1913 – 2004

LEWISTON – Henry A. Irons Sr., 90, of 211 Randall Road, died Thursday, Jan. 29, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Baltimore, Md., Nov. 28, 1913, the son of Harley and Helen Hyers Irons. He was raised in Toms River, N.J., and later moved to Washington, D.C., where he graduated from high school.

He moved from New Jersey, to Lewiston in 1994. He was married Dec. 31, 1935, to Virginia L. Taylor who predeceased him May 4, 1995.

He was employed by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) as a title one representative. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and enjoyed golf and all sports.

He is survived by a son, Art Irons and wife Lorraine of Litchfield; five grandchildren, Deborah Ludwig of Bowdoinham, Arthur Irons of Cherry Hill, N.J., Thomas Irons of Maple Shade, N.J., Joann Niblic of Cinnimimson, N.J., and Michael Irons of Maple Shade, N.J.; and six great-grandchildren.
