Were a survey of U.S. citizens conducted, with the question being “which country has the most oil reserves?” I’m confident that the large majority would answer Saudi Arabia, which is correct.

Were the survey to continue and ask “Which country has the second most oil reserves?” I doubt if there would be a majority with the correct answer, which is Canada.

Thanks to environmental extremists and the Democratic Party, who fight every effort to allow oil drilling in Alaska, the United States is not even in the top 10.

Part of their thinking has to do with the need to protect animals. To some of these extremists, animals are more important than humans and our pocketbooks.

The area where drilling would take place is a tiny percentage of the vast Alaskan wilderness. Further, many studies have shown that the animals are happy and prosper near the existing pipeline.

One looks forward to the day when such liberal extremists are voted out of office.
