A 1985 vote by residents overruled a recent selectmen vote.

JAY – Townspeople voted in 1985 to print annual salaries of people who worked for either the town or school in the town report.

Selectmen voted at their last meeting to not print salaries in the report this year and place a referendum article on the April 20 ballot to ask voters their opinion.

But Town Manager Ruth Marden said with the help of former town manager and Selectman Michael Houlihan, the 1985 vote was uncovered.

Marden said she will inform selectmen of the previous vote at 6 p.m. Monday at the Community Building.

Also on the selectmen’s agenda that evening are the following:

• RayEllen Roy’s request to have the town seed an area on school grounds. Roy wants to remove part of the pavement at a school playground to make the area more children friendly.

• Joseph Roy’s request to do an Eagle Scout project.

• Discussion on the town’s legal options now that a resident has posted Parker Pond Road to the public. The road leads to a water supply of the Livermore Falls Water District that serves residents in Jay and Livermore Falls:

• Consideration of an article for a resolution that is required to become a Pine Tree Zone economic development project.

• Executive session on a pending legal issue.
