AUGUSTA – Roland D. Martin, commissioner of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife has designated Feb. 6-8 as Maine’s inaugural Open Snowmobile Weekend.

Maine Law authorized the commissioner to designate one weekend a year as an open snowmobile weekend when snowmobiles legally registered outside the state may be used in state without being registered in Maine.

The free snowmobile weekend is designed to provide snowmobilers from outside of Maine a chance to experience some of Maine’s 13,000 miles of groomed trails.
