OXFORD – Four law enforcement agencies combined in an early morning raid Wednesday that netted a cache of marijuana plants.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Oxford Police, Maine Game Wardens and the Violent Crime Task Force, based in Androscoggin County, searched the home of Harry G. Richardson, 35, of 90 East Oxford Road, at 6 a.m. and recovered in excess of 200 plants growing indoors.

“The plants were in various stages of growth ranging from seedlings to full budded plants,” Oxford Police Lt. Jon Tibbetts said. He said the bust occurred from leads that the MDEA had been developing. He said police confiscated growing equipment in the raid.

Richardson was charged with aggravated cultivation of marijuana and aggravated trafficking of marijuana.

Bail of $5,000 cash was set on each charge.

He was also arrested on outstanding warrants issued in 1998 from Androscoggin County charging assault, violation of protection from abuse order and probation violation, according to Tibbetts.

Bail for the assault charge is $5,000 surety or $2,500 cash. Total bail from the other two charges is $1,500 cash.
