1938 – 2004
LEWISTON – Alice M. Cheetham, 65, passed away Thursday morning, Jan. 29, at d’Youville Pavilion, following a short illness with cancer.
Born in Bath, June 5, 1938, the daughter of Albert N. King and Gladys Johnson, she was a resident of Topsham for several years.
She spent several years providing for the care of others as a nursing assistant. Recently she moved to Lewiston to be with her brother and sister-in-law after being diagnosed with liver cancer. Her sister-in-law devoted all of her time in the home to caring for her needs and providing for her comfort during her illness.
Her real and substantial pleasure in life was her children and grandchildren. She raised four daughters and two sons. Her grandchildren were a source of real enjoyment to her in her later years.
Survivors include her parents; her sons, Michael Cheetham of Brunswick and Scott Cheetham of Summerville, S.C.; daughters, Jessica Brewer, Lorinda Bozeman and Jennifer Coombs, all of Brunswick and Melinda Robinson of Topsham; sisters, Melissa Cossette of Wiscasset and Judith Genchur of Charleston, S.C.; brother, James King of Lewiston; 12 grandchildren; and a stepgrandchild.
She was predeceased by her twin brother, Albert (Jan) King; a younger sister, Jean Fluharty; and an infant son, Stanley Cheetham.
