Jenika Kelly throws in 23 points for Livermore Falls.

LIVERMORE FALLS – Jenika Kelly drained a game-high 23 points to direct Livermore Falls past Monmouth Academy with a 78-33 victory in girls’ basketball Thursday evening.

Kelly also hauled down 11 rebounds for the Andies (5-3). Taryn Flagg netted 12 points and hauled down 10 assists as well.

The Mustangs’ (2-16) Courtney Barnett scored 11 points.

Buckfield 30, Richmond 26

BUCKFIELD- Shana Shackford drained 12 points and hauled down 12 rebounds as she led Buckfield to a 30-26 win over Richmond in the final seconds of girls’ basketball matchup Thursday. The Bucks’ (2-16) Desiree Brackett scored nine points.

For Richmond (2-16), Kelly Gray and Haily Brown poured in a combined 14 points.

Dirigo 58, Telstar 33

BETHEL – Brooke Weston and Alexa Kaubris scored a combined 33 points to match the Rebels’ entire game production as Dirigo rolled to a 58-33 win over Telstar in MVC girls’ basketball action Thursday.

The Dirigo (18-0) offense was relentless in the first half, outpacing Telstar (12-6) by 18 points at the half. Jennifer Harvey pitched in with 12 points for the Cougars.

Krystle Gould and Jillian Kimball led the Rebels with eight points apiece.

Mt. View 57, Oak Hill 41

WALES – Amy Miles dropped in a stellar 21 points to lift Mt. View to a 57-41 win over Oak Hill in KVAC girls’ basketball action Thursday.

Oak Hill jumped out to a 10-8 lead in the first quarter, but slipped to a seven-point disadvantage before intermission.

Junior center Amber Chapman scored a team-high 16 points and pulled down 24 rebounds for the Raiders, but could not trigger a second-half recovery.

Poland 33, Cape Elizabeth 30

POLAND – Sarah Lefebvre posted 10 points in a balanced attack as Poland edged Cape Elizabeth 33-30 in WMC girls’ basketball action Thursday.

The contest was nip and tuck through the fourth quarter when Poland’s defense, led by Mindy Thomas with 13 rebounds, permitted the Knights to pull ahead and maintain the lead down the stretch.

Brynne Curran notched the game-high 13 points for Cape Elizabeth.

Kents Hill 37, Pine Tree 24

FREEPORT – Aleigh Mills scored 14 points to lift Kents Hill to a 37-24 victory over Pine Tree Academy in girls’ basketball action Thursday.

Kents Hill was a bit sluggish in the first quarter and jeopardized its undefeated status with a Pine Tree Academy 8-1 run. But Kents Hill picked up the momentum as Olivia Clukey contributed 11 points and Mills tallied 14 rebounds, six steals and four blocks to go along with her 14 points.

Pine Tree Academy was paced by Rachel Hautman with 10 points, including a 3-pointer.

Hockey

Lewiston 4, Portland 2

PORTLAND- Lewiston’s Jason Dube tallied a goal and an assist to lead Lewiston to a 4-2 clip over Portland in Class A hockey action Thursday afternoon.

Adam Longchamps began the scoring for the Devils (13-3) early in the first period.

For the Bulldogs (13-4), Zack Williamson dropped in the first goal to spoil a shutout attempt by Lewiston. Joe Fosulo rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs.

Basketball

Buckfield 73, Richmond 53

BUCKFIELD- Buckfield’s Scott Wetherell drained a game-high 18 points to point Buckfield toward their eventual 73-53 win over Richmond Thursday afternoon.

The Bucks’ (11-6) Jamie Henderson followed close behind with 14 points.

Shane Hutchins netted 14 points for the Bobcats (9-7). Brenden Kendrich followed with 13 and had three rebounds.
