February will be jampacked with frolicking fun as The Odd Company, Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Co., The Flaming Idiots and BubbleMania take to the stage at Sunday River Resort in Newry. They’ll perform as part of the resort’s Black Diamond Family Entertainment Series.

The Odd Company, a comedy and juggling ensemble, will perform Saturday, Feb. 14 during Sunday River Ski Club’s Casino Night. The Odd Company brings together three international variety artists: Fritz Grobe, a four-time gold medalist at the International Jugglers Festival; Amanda Huotari from the Boston improv comedy troupe Juice; and Mike Miclon, comic host of the popular “The Early Evening Show” at Oddfellow Theatre in Buckfield.

Tuesday, Feb. 17, gigantic inflatable props will spring to life in the world of pneumatic wizard Fred Garbo and Brazilian ballerina Daielma Santos. The duo will roll, glide, tumble, juggle, mime, bounce, quake and dance in sync to the music. Audiences will be treated to giant costumes, a colorful inflatable set with blow-up furniture, an “Air-dale” Dog and The Inflatable Man Meets the Inflatable Woman.

Sunday, Feb. 22, will bring the bean-bag juggling, whip cracking, balloon eating Flaming Idiots to the stage. Idiot-controlled leaf blowers will choreograph an airborne ballet of beach balls and two enormous glowing hands will juggle giant fluorescent orbs. The show offers a smorgasbord of oddball antics, manic high jinks, acrobatics and one darn good baloney sandwich – all served up with a generous side of musical commentary from a sardonic three-man band.

Tuesday, Feb. 24, BubbleMania will offer up a unique program of quick witted humor, riveting skills and the unleashed, often unbelievable qualities of liquid spheres. Bubble-ologist Casey Carle’s creations grow from intricate bubble sculptures to bubbles that bend, bounce and boogie, to giant bubbles that encase people inside.

All shows begin at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Summit Resort Hotel at Sunday River Ski Resort. Advance tickets for these family events are $4 for children 12 and under, $6 for adults; they will be $6 and $8 at the door. Admission for children under 5 is free. Tickets may be purchased on the mountain at the South Ridge Welcome Center, the Snow Cap Inn, the Grand Summit Resort Hotel or at Books & Things in Bethel. For more information, call (207) 824-3575.
