Here’s a good one: “If you think your medical costs are high now, wait until they are free.”

The governor and the Democratic Legislature are already putting the screws to the hospitals and the pharmacies to have them share the pain of giving birth to the Dirigo monster.

If the governor was really interested in “sharing the pain,” he would ask for the inevitable tax increases up front. But, of course, that would be political poison.

I think the best thing the Republican legislators could do for the voters of the state is to stand against the Democrat juggernaut. Of course, the bullies will have their day. But, when the light finally dawns on the electorate, Republicans can rise up like a phoenix out of the ashes of Dirigo.
