DURHAM – Two vehicles were demolished in separate accidents within an hour of each other Friday afternoon on Royalsborough Road.

Mohamed Hassan, 37, of Rideout Street, Lewiston, complained of head pain and was transported to Central Maine Medical Center. He lost control of his 1998 Dodge Caravan and struck a stump at 3:10 p.m., according to Cpl. Rielly Bryant of the Androscoggin County Sheriff Department. Loss to his van was set at $7,000.

Less than an hour later, at 4 p.m., Christopher Woiccak, 31, of Webster Street, Lewiston, lost control of his Ford Windstar van on the slippery road. He suffered bruises but did not require immediate medical attention, Cpl. Bryant said. Loss to his van was set at $8,000. Personnel from Durham Fire and Rescue responded to both accidents.
