WILTON – Planners granted permits for a consignment shop, timber harvesting and road construction Thursday. They also approved a farm stand, bed and breakfast, and therapeutic massage office, all at 1188 Main St.

Anne Gray will operate a consignment shop at 364 Main St. She said she plans to sell primarily clothing for women and children.

Kendall Brann was granted a permit to do timber harvesting off Orchard Drive. The property is within the watershed overlay zone.

Code Enforcement Officer Brenda Medcoff gave planners a copy of Brann’s forest management plan. She said he will not harvest more than 40 percent in that zone and no state permits are needed. Brann said about 46 acres will be harvested, with about 31 of those acres in the watershed overlay.

Planners granted a permit to operate a farm stand, bed and breakfast, and therapeutic massage office to Margaret Reber. The home businesses will be located 1188 Main St. The property was formerly Tyler Farm.

Medcoff said nothing new will be built. Reber will utilize the buildings already on the property. She said she currently operates a therapeutic massage office in Mechanic Falls. She said all clients will come by appointment only.

Neighbor Becky Campbell said she is concerned that once a business is operating there any business will be allowed there in the future.

Planners explained that the property is in residential zoning and only certain businesses are allowed in that type zone.

Planners also granted a permit to Dennis Landry to build a road to a recently purchased lot with frontage on Wilson Lake. The permit was given with the conditions that Landry use erosion control measures and obtain necessary state and federal permits.

Officials also continued working on issues for the annual town meeting in June.
