NORWAY – Michael Loveless has joined the Child Health Center as a mentoring coordinator in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Program.

Loveless will work the site-based mentoring program helping area schools to provide mentoring partnerships for children who could benefit from a little extra support.

He will be helping to coordinate volunteer mentors from local high schools, businesses and the community as they meet with children in the local elementary school for an hour a week.

During this time a mentor will work with a youth on school work, play games and offer support in many areas. Loveless will be working with schools in Hebron, Lake Region School District in Bridgton, Lovell, Oxford Hills School District in Paris and Poland.

Loveless is a 2002 graduate of the University of Maine Orono where he earned a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology and physical education with a concentration in teaching and coaching those with disabilities. Loveless has previous experience working with a National Youth in Sports Program, sports camps and coaching.

The Child Health Center is a nonprofit organization striving to improve the lives of children and their families in western Maine.
