AUBURN – Abby Gilbert tickled the twines for a game-high 26 points, including four 3-pointers, to power St. Dom’s to a 46-36 win over Sacopee Valley in WMC basketball action Saturday.
Trailing 24-18 at halftime, the Saints (4-12) utilized a stifling defense to hold the Hawks (6-9) to 12 points in the second half while going 19-for-24 from the charity stripe to secure the victory. Emily Goss controlled the boards in the second half and hauled down eight rebounds.
Elyse White led the Hawks with 13 points, while Melissa Verrill added 12 points.
Rangeley 66, Hyde 33
RANGELEY – Junior center Krysteen Romero poured in 20 points as Rangeley finished the season unbeaten by rolling to a 66-33 triumph over Hyde School.
Point guard Sarah Schrader chipped in 16 points for the Lakers (17-0), while Justine Frost-Kolva tallied eight points along with four steals and four rebounds.
Senior guard Sabriah Faustin led the Pheonix with 12 points.
Gray-New Gloucester 32, York 31
GRAY – GNG’s Don Ross drained a game-high 16 points as the Patriots slip past York 32-31 in a varsity boys’ basketball match up on Saturday night.
Haley Woods scored a team high 8 points for York. The Patriots improve to 16-2.
Lewiston 46, Nokomis 37
NEWPORT – Junior forward Tracy Bradley scored 13 points to lead Lewiston to a 46-37 win over Nokomis in KVAC girls’ basketball action Saturday.
Katie L. Morin contributed 12 points in the balanced attack for the Blue Devils (12-2).
The Warriors (6-9) were paced by Alyssa Bragdon with 11 points and Aimee Paradis, who scored another 10 points.
