ORONO – Kevin Reed had 19 points to lead six players in double figures as Maine beat Binghamton 84-51 Sunday.

Maine (14-7, 8-4 America East) shot 48 percent in the first half, getting 10 points apiece from Mark Flavin and Eric Dobson.

Reed scored eight points during a 22-3 run to close out out the first half. A three-pointer by Troy Hailey was the only field goal in the final 71/2 minutes of the first half for Binghamton (10-13, 6-6).

Reed scored the first eight points of the second half as the Black Bears picked up where they left off, opening up a 49-21 lead.

Nick Billings and Hailey led Binghamton with nine points each, but the Bearcats struggled from the field, shooting only 29 percent for the game, including 15 percent from the three-point line.

Dobson finished with 15 points and a game-high six assists for Maine. Mark Flavin, Dobson, Joe Campbell and Udo Hadjisotirov all chipped in with 10.

Caselton St 91, UMF 71

FARMINGTON – John Galarneau poured in a game-high 28 points to lead Caselton State to a 91-71 win over the University of Maine at Farmington.

The Spartans held a slim 40-38 lead at the end of the first half but poured on the pressure in the second half.

Travis Magnusson paced UMF with 26 points while Luke Nielson had 18 points.

EMCC 67, CMCC 51

BANGOR – Daryl Watson poured in 27 points to lead Eastern Maine CC to a 67-51 victory over Central Maine CC.

Patrick Dempsey and Chris Brackett led the Mustangs with 14 points each.

St. Joseph’s 70, MMA 59

STANDISH – Abbie Rice drained a game-high 19 points to lead St. Joseph’s to a 70-59 win over Maine Maritime Academy.

The Monks (11-10) used a 43-32 run in the second half to ice the win as Morgan Brownlee and Laura Pelky chipped in with 14 and 10 points.

The Mariners (9-10) were led by Michelle Gott and Crystall Parker with 17 points apiece.

CMCC 72, EMCC 35

BANGOR – Central Maine CC opened up a 20-point lead by halftime and coasted to a 72-35 win over Eastern Maine CC.

Ashley Swett scored 26 points for CMCC, while Jessica Newton had 19 and Nicole Hutchinson had 12.

Thomas 73, Lesley 30

WATERVILLE – Heather Carter paved the way to victory for Thomas with 18 points as the Terriers (7-10) handed Lesley College a 73-30 setback in women’s basketball Sunday.

Tammy Fowler and Shauna Lessard added 14 and 10 points respectivley in the victory.
