AUGUSTA – Lawyers Alan G. Stone and Ian A. Brown have received 2003 Pro Bono Awards from the Volunteer Lawyers Project.

The two were recognized for contributing the highest cumulative number of pro bono hours on cases closing during the calendar year. Stone is with the firm Skelton, Taintor, & Abbott of Auburn and Ian A. Brown practices in Lewiston.

Sponsored by the Maine State Bar Association’s Continuing Legal Education Committee, the awards recognize service from November 2002 through October 2003. Both men were honored at the Jan. 29 meeting of the Maine State Bar Association in Rockport.
