1914 – 2004

FARMINGTON – Dorothy E. Elliott, 89, of Wilton, died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 10, at the Sandy River Center for Health Care.

She was born April 10, 1914, in Bangor. On July 5, 1969, she married Glenwood Elliott in Strong. They made their home in Wilton.

Mrs. Elliott worked at local shoe shops, including Farmington Shoe from where she retired after 20 years of service.

She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, embroidery, playing Beano and watching β€œThe Price Is Right.” She will be remembered as wonderful cook and was especially noted for her banana bread, pies and homemade baked beans.

Survivors include her husband, Glen of Wilton; three sons, Wesley Smith and his wife, Carol of Dixfield, David Hinkley and his wife, Barbara of Jay and Donald Hinkley Sr. and his companion, Joanne of Chelsea; a sister, Gladys LaPlante of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Jerry Haines of New Vineyard, Jenny Haines of Farmington, Toddy Smith of Dixfield and Donald Hinkley Jr. of Farmington Falls; eight great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Bruce Dunham of Avon.

She was predeceased by a sister, Louise Dunham.
