WILTON – Foothills Arts Center will present a Valentine fun day of workshops and an ice-skating party for adults and kids of all ages. The public is welcome to participate in any or all events on Saturday, Feb. 14.

The events begin with workshops at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at High and School streets. From 12:30 to 1 p.m., artist Alan McGillivray and writer Kathleen Welch will lead a creative movement workshop in which participants will help bring to life, “A Valentine Dream,” a love story about a snow crane and a deer, written by Welch.

From 1 to 2 p.m., quilter Brenda Hathaway will lead a costume-making workshop. People will create their own original creature costumes and scenery for the story. The center will provide all of the materials for the workshop.

Everyone will share their creations at 2:30 p.m. at Kineowatha Park skating rink on High Street as they skate. Beginner skaters are welcome.

There will be a small fee to participate in the workshops, but if people cannot afford that, Foothills Arts Center wants everyone to come anyway. People who cannot attend the workshops are welcome to come skate with the group or watch.
