LOVELL – The doors of the Charlotte Hobbs Library will open from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, for the annual chocolate buffet. The library is still looking for volunteers who want to donate to the buffet. For a donation of $5 people can taste 10 delicacies, and $8 entitles a person to 20.
Children’s author
NORWAY – Tamra Wight, Maine children’s book author, will visit the Norway Memorial Library from 10:30 to 11:30 Saturday, Feb. 14. She will talk about where she got the idea for her book and how the illustrations for the book were made. The program will end with her reading “The Three Grumpies” to the group. There will be coloring sheets and handouts for children and parents to take home. For further information, call Amy at the Norway Memorial Library at 743-5308.
Location changed
OXFORD – The location of the Swingin’ Bears Valentine-Sweetheart Dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, has been changed to the Madison Avenue School, Route 26. There will be both class level and plus level called by Kip Moulton. Linda Moulton will cue the round dancing.
Sermon topic
NORWAY – The Feb. 15th service at the Norway Unitarian Universalist Church, 479 Main St., will include a message from the Rev. Joy Gasta titled: “Love on “Cold Mountain.” Worship services begin at 11 a.m., led by Gasta, with Music Director Heather Pierson and the choir. Religious education starts at 11:15 a.m. Children attend the first part of the service with their parents.
Church speaker
PARIS – Silver Moore-Leamon will be the speaker at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine Street, South Paris, Sunday, Feb. 15. Moore-Leamon’s sermon topic for the 10 a.m. service will be “The Heart Is….” Organ voluntaries begin at 9:50 a.m. with music under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist. Sunday school will be in session and child care is provided. The coffee hour will follow the service in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.
Time change
NORTH WATERFORD – The Rev. George Frobig announces a new time for Sunday school at the North Waterford Congregational Church. Sessions are being held at 9:30 a.m.
Area children are invited to join Sunday school teachers Vicki Fox and Jennifer Carter for activities, lessons and music.
Frobig invites everyone to attend regular Sunday services at 10 a.m. at the church off Routes 35 and 37.
