A guided tour at the Portland Museum of Art
will be offered.
OXFORD – The Oxford Hills chapter of AARP plans a day trip on Thursday, March 4, to see the People, Places & Plants Spring Flower & Garden Show at Scarborough Downs in Scarborough.
After lunch at Governor’s Restaurant, participants can take a guided tour of an exhibit at the Portland Museum of Art or spend an afternoon shopping at the Christmas Tree Shop and Michael’s.
The bus will leave at 7:30 a.m. from the Ames parking lot in Oxford and drop people at the entrance to the flower show.
Later, at the Portland Museum of Art, the guided tour will be of the “Artful Bouquet of Flowers” exhibit and also of the fully restored Federal-era building, The McLellan House.
The bus will leave at 4 p.m. and is scheduled to arrive back in Oxford at 5 p.m.
The price of $49 per person includes the bus trip, admission to the flower show, lunch and admission to the museum. The price is $43 for people who are not going to the museum.
Non-AARP members should add $2 to the prices.
