LIVERMORE FALLS – Russell Flagg won the vacant seat on the Board of Selectmen in Wednesday’s special election by a vote of 98 to 69 over Kevin Morrissey.

His term expires on June 30, 2006.

Town Clerk Faith Nichols said a total of 171 votes were cast during the six hours the polls were open at the fire station. 25 were absentee ballots, she said.

Ken Smith received four write-in votes, Nichols said.

Both men had based their campaigns on the town’s tax rate and possible savings through regionalization.
