1943 – 2004
LEWISTON – Jeannette (Lagasse) “Ducky” Malier, 60, known to her friends as “Ducky”, a resident of Webster St., Auburn, went to be with the Lord early Wednesday, Feb. 11, after a courageous battle with cancer. She had been a patient at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center for the last two months.
She was born in Lewiston April 23, 1943, the daughter of Lucien P. and Dorothy (Duguette) Lamontagne and was educated in local schools. On Aug. 10,1990, she married Theodore E. Malier in Auburn. Mrs. Malier was a homemaker for most of her life.
She was a member of the Acme Club, Pastime Club and was a life member of South End Social club all of Lewiston. “Ducky’s” interest included playing competitive darts, cooking, music and collecting “Ducks”.
She who was known for her long hair, and had made provisions for her hair to be donated to Locks of Love for children with cancer.
Survivors include her husband of Lewiston; one daughter, Nichole Lynn Legasse of Maine; one son, Scott J. Lagasse of Auburn; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Levassur of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Philip (Constance D.) Verratti of North Haverhill, N.H.; two brothers, Robert LaGace of Lisbon and Roland Lagasse of New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews.
