1931 – 2004

AUBURN – Lydia A. Farris, 72, of Garfield Road, Auburn died at Clover Manor Nursing Home Tuesday, Feb. 10.

She was born in Lewiston on July 17, 1931, the daughter of Harvey and Dorcas (Edwards) Collings. She was educated in Lewiston area schools.

On June 17, 1948, she married Milton Farris Sr. In her early years she worked as a handsewer in the shoe industry and then became a homemaker and helped her husband, Milton run Farris Used Cars.

Mrs. Farris enjoyed spending time with her family especially her children and grandchildren, she also liked to knit and crochet.

She leaves two daughters, Susan Remillard and her husband Normand of Leeds, and Kathleen Nysven and her fiancée Douglas Gerritts of Wisconsin; two sons, Milton Farris Jr. and his wife Luidmila of New Hampshire, and Patrick Farris and his wife Julianna of Poland; eight grandchildren, Jennalynn, Jessica, Bethany, and Benjamin Farris, Amy and Alison Remillard, and Anna and Lara Nysven; two great-grandchildren, Joshua Farris and Roland Whittier; and a brother, Nelson Collings of Florida.

She was predeceased by her husband, Milton who died on Jan. 31; four sisters, Regina, Frances, Helena, and Mary; and her brother, Charles.
