1913 – 2004

FARMINGTON – Mary Jane Wing, 90, of Strong, formerly of Phillips, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Born in Phillips, June 7, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (McKenney) Calden.

She married Arthur Goldsmith on Dec. 25, 1934, and after his death she married Merton Wing on Oct. 24, 1974. She was a member of the Sandy River Grange for 75 years and a member of the Phillips Senior Citizens. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.

Survivors include a daughter, Maxine Voter and her husband, Vernon of Strong; stepsons, Lybrand Goldsmith of Wilton, Theodore Wing of Connecticut, and Daniel Wing of Farmington; stepdaughter, Marie Bubier of Phillips; two grandsons, Mark and Walter Haines of Phillips; and two great-grandsons, Thomas and Mitchell Haines of Wilton.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Goldsmith in 1973; her second husband, Merton Wing in 1979; and three brothers, Richard, Herbert and Harry Calden.
