1913 – 2004

AUBURN – Lena M. Driscoll, 90, formerly of 74 Lake Auburn Ave., died Wednesday morning, Feb. 11, at the Odd Fellows Home Health Care Center.

She was born in St. Francis, June 29, 1913, a daughter of Charles and Athalie (Sirois) Thibodeau. She was educated in St. Francis schools, moved to this area shortly thereafter and remained a lifelong resident of the New Auburn community.

Mrs. Driscoll worked many years in the local shoe manufacturing industry spending 25 years at Knapp Shoe until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of St. Louis Church and was a Past President and Vice President of the Womens’ Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 153 in New Auburn. Among her favorite enjoyments was spending fun times with her grandchildren.

She leaves a daughter, Carolyn Binette and husband Leo “Butch” Binette of Auburn; three grandchildren, Leo “Lee” Binette of Lewiston, Keith Binette of Auburn and Christina Hart of Naples, Italy; one great-grandchild; and a stepdaughter, Claudette Frechette of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Romeo Beaudoin; and later by her second husband, John Driscoll.
